Agudas Achim Preschool, Alexandria

It takes a village to raise a child. We are lucky to have Agudas Achim preschool in our neighbourhood. All three of my children attended and loved it. Jen, the preschool director with two master degrees in education, is leading the staff of educated and dedicated teachers and specialists, who have taught in Agudas for many years. Teachers go through professional development training regularly, while students go through screenings to make sure they meet their developmental milestones. Agudas family represents a diverse community, which equally supports children with various talents and special needs. Importantly, Agudas has spacious premises with sun-lit classrooms, multiple outdoor play areas, a large private playground, enormous social hall, and beautiful gardens in which children grow their own herbs and blooming perennials. The preschool leadership and administration goes above and beyond to accommodate parents’ busy schedules, offers multiple choices of quality programs, and addresses concerns promptly. Above all, Agudas has managed to create a family-like environment for children to thrive through play and build long-lasting friendships. Not only do they learn academics, a foreign language, cooking, arts, music and nature but about moral values as well. Agudas Achim is a preschool which others model after. I cannot recommend Agudas Achim preschool enough. It is a truly unique “hidden gem” of the greater DC-area.
