Morning View Playhouse, Alexandria

Morning View Playhouse is a home-based daycare and preschool, in Alexandria, VA. I’m the owner and main caregiver and I have 19 years of experience in child care and early childhood education. I’m CPR and First-aid certified, as well as M.A.T trained (if needed, I can administer medication to all children in my care). As a mother myself, I know how difficult it is for you to leave your child with someone, but at my daycare, you can be sure that your little one will feel at home, safe and loved.

My child care and preschool program is open year-round from 7:00 am to 5:30 pm, Monday through Friday. I can provide full-time and part-time care for infants as young as 6 weeks, as well as toddlers and preschoolers up to 3 years old. I can also offer before and after school care for older kids, up to 12 years old (I’m close to Island Creek Elementary School and Lane Elementary School).

I believe that learning should be fun, so I follow the Play-based educational approach. I provide age-appropriate activities, have open communication with parents, and maintain a good relationship with them. We have organized bins of toys for both infants and toddlers including large activity sets and smaller toys and puzzles. Your child will have the opportunity to engage in coloring, reading, learning shapes and numbers, opposites and even discover the solar system! We also focus on learning good manners. Children are encouraged to participate in engaging extracurricular activities such as Story Time, Music, etc. and if weather permits, I take them to the community park near my house. In addition to English, I speak French, Amharic, Arabic and Somali and upon your request, I can expose your child to these foreign languages (my daycare is not a language immersion or fully bilingual program).

Morning View Playhouse is located off Morning View Lane, in the Island Creek neighborhood in Alexandria, VA. I’m also near Beulah St (route 613) and Kingstowne Village Pkwy, and my home offers easy access to Telegraph Rd (route 611), Fairfax County Pkwy (route 286), and the I-95.
