​Dear parents, welcome to our Academic Children's Center in Columbia, MD. We are a Montessori child care center and preschool located off Tamar Dr and Waterloo Rd in Columbia. Our daycare center is conveniently located for your commute since we’re just a few minutes away from the I-95 and route 100.

Our hours of operation are between 6:30 am and 6:00 pm, Monday through Friday. We offer full-time child care for infants as young as 6 weeks, and toddlers and preschoolers up to 5 years old, including children with special needs. We also provide before school care for school-age children. Peanut​ ​and tree-nut snacks are provided to children in our care (included in the tuition).

At our child care center, we believe that the first few years of your child’s life play a critical role in shaping how they will learn and grow into adults. We use the Montessori teaching philosophy to provide a nurturing early learning environment. Our goal is to encourage your child to be a problem-solver early in life in order to learn how to find solutions academically, as well as in everyday situations. Our various fun, educational activities are designed to foster a love of learning through Science, Math, and Language. In addition to English, several of our teachers also speak Spanish and we can expose your child to a foreign language if you’d like. This is a wonderful opportunity for your child to become bilingual early on!

We are a team that is highly qualified, and experienced in providing nurturing care to your little one! Our director has 13 years of child care experience and holds a degree in Early Childhood Education. Our assistant director has 5 years of experience and holds a Master's Degree in Psychology with a Minor in Early Education & Human Development. Our staff is CPR and first-aid certified and MAT trained as well, so they can administer medication to your child if needed.
