MS Delia's Day Care, Fairfax

My child has been at Ms. Delia's Daycare since he was 3 months old. We were looking for a smaller, in home daycare so that our child would get more individual attention. We have been very pleased with the care and attention he has recieved. Our son is thriving and learning. He is happy when he is dropped off in the morning - I barely get a goodbye hug before he is off and running to see his friends. And he is happy when picked up. Because all the children are taught together, I feel my son is ahead of where he would be if he was in a larger setting where children of the same age are grouped together. We are very happy with Ms. Delia's Daycare.

Our daughter has attended "Mrs. Delia's Day Care" from age 15 months until she was almost 3 years old. We have always been very pleased with the services of Mrs. Delia and her fellow teachers. When we started looking for a day care, we wanted to have a relatively small group of children, so we visited several home day cares. In comparison to the other home day cares we visited during the selection process, Mrs. Delia's day care is actually quite spacious. We particularly liked the fact that she has separate rooms for play time, lunch and nap time (older children might nap or enjoy quite time in the play room, but young children nap in cribs in a different room). Moreover, we appreciated the fact that she has a little playground, as well as a space with ride-on toys. Our daughter loved to stay at the day care from day 1. Mrs. Delia provides a very warm and loving environment, while offering a well balanced and structured curriculum, with open play, but also circle time, arts and crafts, music and gymnastics, which helps a child to transition very well into pre-school. She encourages the children to become independent in practical things (helping to clean up, taking away the dishes, washing hands etc.). Our daughter has been on a field trip to the local farmers' market, as well as to the library. Whenever the weather was nice, the children would play outside in the morning, and Mrs. Delia and her team would change them into new clothes afterwards. All the rooms are kept very clean, and even the outdoors is cleaned every morning before the children go outside to play. Overall, we had a wonderful experience with this day care and can highly recommend it.
