All Star Preschool is a home based facility. It was founded in 1990 by mother of 5 and grandmother of 7. The program was designed for parents who wish their children to be in a loving, safe, stimulating and learning environment. We offer gymnastics and music class weekly, along with a preschool program which will prepare children for kindergarten. Our babies grow with us and leave when it is time to enter 'big school'. This environment will offer your child the stability, security they will need to succeed in the school years ahead. We also offer a three half days per week Kindergarten Readiness Program for those who will be entering Kindergarten the following school year. For the full time program we offer breakfast-lunch-PM snack. For the half day program we offer breakfast and lunch. Our registration fee is an actual deposit which is credited on the last two weeks of our care. Space is limited.

Mercedes and Anna are true gems that we've been so lucky to find. It was difficult to leave behind a small infant to return to work but knowing our baby is left in such capable and loving hands made that transition much easier. When we pick up our son he's happy, well-fed, and ready for a nice nap! We're looking forward to him growing older so he can experience all the classes and lessons Mercedes offers. Our son has grown so much over the past year and we owe much of that development to All Star.

Our family has been with All Star for over three years now. Our son started at All Star when he was 3 months old, and our daughter started a few years later when she was 5 months old. We did a great deal of research on center-based childcare and home-based childcare in the Fairfax area when we were expecting our first child. In many ways, All Star provides the best of both worlds.
The preschool, music, and other enrichment programming are key reasons we originally chose and continue to stay at All Star. Such programming sets All Star apart from other home-based settings. We also prefer the smaller, mixed-age environment that All Star provides, which our children would not experience at a larger center. But most importantly, we have stayed with All Star over the years because Mercedes and Ms. Ana are such loving, nurturing providers to our children.

Mercedes is a nurturing caretaker who genuinely loves the children in her daycare. It's a relief to know that we have such a fantastic person to watch over our child during the day.

When searching for a preschool for our son, my wife and I wanted to find a place that provided a home-like atmosphere and a structured learning program. We also wanted teachers who would reinforce the behavior and values we try to instill at our own home. Among these behaviors and values are hard work, respect for others, confidence, and a love of learning. All Star Preschool was highly recommended to us, and we feel blessed to have our son enrolled there. Mercedes and her assistant Anna treat our son as if he's their own, and he adores them right back. The program includes a variety of activities, effectively mixing learning, creative projects, exercise, and fun. Our son is always energized and in a great mood after his time there. He also has had the opportunity to interact with children much younger than he is, which is preparing him to become a leader and good role model for others.

We have known Ms. Mercedes and Mrs. Anna at All Star Daycare for the past two years when they began providing care for our youngest daughter (now almost 3 years of age). We wanted more than just a “day care” where our daughter would be watched while we worked. We instead sought an environment where learning, play, and social skill development were all important, and where we could have regular interactions with the teachers. To us, Ms. Mercedes and Mrs. Anna are co-parents to our family. They have helped us by offering support, advice and encouragement for my husband and me as we navigate the many challenges of “parenthood”. For example, when our daughter began to experience separation anxiety, we were able to create a drop off ritual that made it easier for her (and us). Having a shared plan that we all followed made a big difference. We cannot emphasize enough how much we appreciate all of their support. In addition, learning is not just something the children do, but Mrs. Mercedes attends early childhood development conferences to stay current with new ideas and practices.

My son has been attending All-Star for nearly a year, and my daughter attended for 18 months prior to
our 2-year stint overseas. We have been exceptionally pleased with the care both our children have received
at All-Star and Mercedes has become like family to us. My son is safe, happy, and growing & developing
every week. Mercedes's curriculum strikes the right age-appropriate balance between unstructured
free play and instruction in the kindergarten-readiness basics of letters, numbers, colors, shapes, etc.
The program goes above and beyond with special activities like the Fun Bus and a weekly music class, as well
as holiday and birthday celebrations and seasonal themes. All-Star is a gem and we are lucky to be part of
the family!

All three of my children have attended/do attend All Star Preschool. Ms. Mercedes and Ms. Ana are loving and caring individuals who provide a clean, safe and fun environment for children and infants. I have always felt comfortable leaving my children in their care and discussing any concerns with them. They truly have the care of children as their #1 priority.
