Jones's Jewels Learning Center (JJLC) is a year-round home-based daycare in Flossmoor, IL. Our family child care program is run by Kiana Jones who has 10 years of childcare experience. We are open from 8:00am until 5:00pm. At Jones's Jewels Learning Center, we understand that each child is unique and their learning type is as well. Because each child learns differently, Jones's Jewels Learning Center teaches in various ways to ensure we are meeting the needs of each child. Jones's Jewels Learning Center operates much like a school/learning center running a full, program-based curriculum from late August to mid-May. From early June to mid-August, Jones's Jewels Learning Center offers a Summer Bridge Program that helps bridge the gap and prevent summer learning loss/regression. The Summer Bridge Program will also better prepare each child for the year ahead. Jones's Jewels Learning Center is a language immersion program that offers Spanish and English. We offer a full curriculum through play, singing, dancing, pencil and paper, Chromebooks, and more. Furthermore, Jones's Jewels Learning Center also teaches various aspects of each lesson such as the alphabet, numbers, shapes, colors, vocabulary, reading comprehension, and Fry sight words through ASL. To help retain what is being taught and to make learning fun, Mrs. Jones includes sign language, does much of the lesson in song and dance, and includes many brain breaks. It's also important to change the style of learning to keep the child engaged. Movements and physical activity improve focus, retention, and memory. I could go on, but don't want to bore you!
