About Me: I am a preschool teacher and a mother of one boy. I hold a physical education degree, CPR/ CPA certification and I have a Montessori education. Our program is registered with Maryland excels, meeting the requirements for teacher education and services provided to the children in our care. I have over 10 years of experience in the early child education field. Teaching, guiding and mentoring children through their individual learning paths is my passion and is what fulfills my heart. Curriculum: Our Montessori inspired environment is carefully prepared with age appropriate materials that encourage independence. Children are capable of initiating their learning process independently if they have a supportive and well prepared environment. A teacher's role is to guide the students individually by letting each child create their own learning pathway. Along with Montessori inspired classroom and materials, we offer a year themed curriculum that was developed to ensure children are exploring new topics and are unlocking their full potential. Some changes in the academic curriculum may be made based on the interests of each child. Another important part of our curriculum would be the social and emotional development of our students. We support them by holding daily group activities where they are exposed to different tools, books, and techniques that will nurture their confidence, self esteem, self regulation, and independence so they can thrive in their childhood. In addition, we offer a bilingual education. Children are exposed on a daily basis to both Portuguese and English. Bilingual education provides a multidimensional view of language, introduces new linguistic elements and gives perspective on cultural diversity.
