Hi there, parents, I’m glad you found us! I’m the owner and caregiver at Westmeath Children's Place, a licensed in-home daycare located just off Westmeath Dr, in The Villages at Wellington neighborhood of Laurel, MD. As a mom of two with 18 years of experience working with children, I know how important it is to find a child care facility where your little ones feel loved and supported. Read on to learn why this is the perfect place for your family!
Program Information
Westmeath Children's Place is open Monday through Friday, from 7:00am to 5:00pm. We welcome children from 6 weeks to 5 years old, providing a range of programs that include full-time care, part-time care as well as a preschool program to prepare our older student for kindergarten.
Whether you have an infant, toddler, or preschooler, we’re here to provide the care and attention they need to thrive. Our location is easy to reach, with quick access to Baltimore Ave (Route 1), I-95, and MD State Route 200 (Intercounty Connector Toll Road).
We also provide healthy, delicious meals and snacks throughout the day, and our daycare is completely peanut-free and tree nut-free to ensure every child’s safety. Meals are already included in the tuition :)
About Me
As a mom and an experienced caregiver, I understand what parents want when choosing a child care facility. Before opening Westmeath Children's Place, I spent nine years as a preschool teacher, where I saw firsthand how kids flourish when they have a good mix of love, structure, and fun. I also hold a bachelor’s degree in accounting, and I’m certified in C.P.R. and First Aid.
I started this in-home daycare because working with children has always been my passion. There’s nothing more rewarding than seeing a child’s face light up when they learn something new or feel proud of their accomplishments. I want every family that joins our daycare to feel like they’re part of a close-knit community where their children are treated with care and respect.
Curriculum and Activities
At Westmeath Children's Place, our daily schedule is planned to give your child a balance of learning, play, and physical activity in a safe and nurturing environment. Here’s what your child’s day will look like:
Dedicated Reading Time: Reading is a big part of our curriculum to help children build strong language and literacy skills.
Focused Learning Time: We incorporate worksheets and schoolwork into the day, developing skills like reading, writing, and problem-solving to prepare kids for school success.
Outdoor Play: Kids love our large, gated backyard, where they can run, explore, and socialize in a secure environment. Outdoor play is a daily highlight, but when the weather doesn’t cooperate, we keep them moving indoors with fun games like Storytelling Chain, Balloon Keep-Up, and Parachute Play.
By combining structured activities with plenty of opportunities for free play, we help children develop essential skills while fostering their natural curiosity and creativity!
