Joyce's Play Ranch, Redondo Beach

My name is Joyce Bettes. I live in North Redondo Beach, and I’m a native of the South Bay. I am blessed to be the mother of four great children. Louis 26, Sarah 25, Pono 21, and Shannon 15. I am very fortunate to have become a licensed family childcare provider 23 years ago with the wonderful help and support of my family and my husband. My business has afforded me the time to be at home with my children and the ability to develop myself as a professional. I must say that spending this time in the service of so many children and families of this community I have received much and feel it is my responsibility to continue my education and to give back; albeit it has taken me number of years to complete 38 general education and 24 E.C.E units. I have reached Child development “Master Teacher” with the California Department of Education. I am continuing to take classes and plan to obtain a B.A. with the focus on “Early Childhood Education”. In addition to holding a license with the department of socials service. I am accredited with the NAFCC. I am also overseen by the Los Angeles Universal Preschool a program that subsidizes our preschool program for children who are four years old (children are eligible the year preceding their kindergarden year). My program is rated annually by the WestEd. I also work closely with Comprehensive Child Development provided a subsidized meal plan for all of the children in our care. My childcare home serves twelve children and their families; most of them live and work here in Redondo Beach, California. At this time the ages are 6 months to 5 years. (Four set of siblings) In addition to myself I have two assistants, Thory Story and Anna Rivera whom have worked with me for several years.
