Who We Are Children at our private, non-denominational Christian schools in North Springfield, Virginia, come to love learning and enjoy a challenge. Springfield Academy & Spring ‘N’ Dale Private School use the advanced ABEKA curriculum for everyone from two-year-olds to third graders, which allows each child to grow socially, mentally, verbally, and physically. Our schools have been owned and operated by a Christian family since 1958. All of our teachers are CPR certified with backgrounds in early childhood education, and many years of experience in child care. We have teachers on staff that are medication administration trained, and daily health observation certified. Premier Infant, Toddler & Preschool Programs At Springfield Academy & Spring ‘N’ Dale Private School we offer top-rated infant, preschool and toddler programs. Infant Program Our infant program creates a warm, comfortable, inviting atmosphere for babies to learn, grow, and develop. The energetic team of loving caregivers we employ nurture your infant’s rapidly developing mind through song, play, creative movement, and rhythm exercises. The caregivers follow every child’s personal schedule to aid in our philosophy of providing a homelike environment. Toddler Program The toddler programs at our private Christian schools feature exciting classrooms filled with fun, creative activities that support your child’s growing independence. Our goal is to aid in developing your toddler’s physical, social, and emotional development through a themed curriculum composed of outdoor play, circle time, creative movement, and classroom activity. We divide our toddler programs at age 18 months. This ensures that each child gets the focus and attention to target their personal development of motor skills, language, and sensory skills. Nursery Two The Nursery Two program uses structure and academics to take your child’s educational development to the next level. The ABEKA curriculum teaches your child learning methods and promotes a strong Christian faith. Children learn the importance of structure and academics through potty training, daily routine, and academic class time, while implementing faith and fun-filled projects every day. Nursery Three Our Nursery Three program promotes creativity, curiosity, and academic stimulation in your three-year-old while stimulating your child’s mind to promote the vital development of comprehension, language, and thinking abilities. Through daily routine, the ABEKA curriculum and its consistent work teaches children the importance of structure and academics. The teachers implement fun letter projects to help with letter and word association and recognition, while exercising fine motor skills through cut-and-paste, tracing, and coloring projects. Junior Kindergarten The academic junior kindergarten program promotes fun learning while setting a firm academic foundation for your child as they move into kindergarten. Phonics, letter recognition, and handwriting lessons set the groundwork for your four-year-old’s academic future. This program teaches students to achieve reading of one-vowel words, and introduces them to two-vowel words. We offer kindergarten, first grade, second grade and third grade curriculum. Kindergarten Program The kindergarteners at our school learn the ABEKA curriculum, which focuses on the key components for academic success in your child's elementary future. Lessons on phonics, reading, and numbers ensure that your child is academically advanced and challenged, resulting in an eagerness to learn. From math and reading to religion, our kindergarteners leave us with a well-rounded education. Our kindergarteners learn to write their first and last names, words, and sentences with an emphasis on proper cursive. Reading groups ensure your little one gets the proper attention they need, and mathematics is an essential aspect of our kindergarten program. A strong focus on counting and writing the numbers between one and 100, counting by number families, perfecting addition facts one through 10, and subtraction are the stepping stones to your child being able to tell time, determine the value of coins and dollar bills, and tackle one-step story problems. Bible lessons are partnered with weekly chapel to instill a long-lasting Christian faith, and we also offer map studies and Spanish classes. First, Second, & Third Grade The elementary school programs we offer for first graders, second graders, and third graders teach an advanced curriculum geared to challenging their minds and keeping them excited about learning. Our classes study mathematics including addition, subtraction, multiplication, place values, odd and even numbers, and other skills. Through daily seat work and reviews, we keep cursive writing consistent.
