Semillitas Early Learning Center, Washington

Semillitas is a really special place that we feel lucky to have found for our son. It's small size (25 children) means that all the teachers know all the children and vice versa. My son started in the toddler room at around 17 months and quickly adjusted to daycare (I was amazed to see how happy he was to return on his second day, and this has continued for nearly 2 years). Health and safety was a huge priority for me, and Semillitas has excelled in this area. We appreciate the photos and updates through the app, and the really thoughtfully-planned community gatherings to celebrate important times of year. The parent-teacher conferences Semillitas holds (complete with a slide deck of photos and information on developmental milestones) are also very sweet. Semillitas has instilled a love of music and instruments in my son through daily circle time and music workshops. We've found the level of Spanish immersion to be just right for early childhood education - my son is learning Spanish but I'm still able to easily communicate with staff members in English. We look forward to him continuing his education in a bilingual setting and feel that Semillitas provided him with a great foundation for this. We've really enjoyed getting to know the other families as well. My only regret is that we didn't start our son at Semillitas sooner!
