Hi parents! Welcome to Woodlawn Mews Children’s Corner, a small in-home daycare and preschool located in the Woodlawn Mews community of Mt. Vernon, Alexandria. My child care facility is just a minute from Richmond Hwy (Route 1), and I take care of infants, toddlers, and preschoolers. My goal is to provide a safe and nurturing space for them to play, learn, and develop at their own pace!

At Woodlawn Mews Children’s Corner, I provide care for children from 6 weeks to 4 years old. I understand how important it is to find a child care facility that fits your family’s needs, which is why I offer both full-time and part-time care. I offer flexible hours from 6:30 am to 6:00 pm to accommodate parents with early starts and long workdays. I know how precious your time is, and I’m committed to being a reliable caregiver for your family! My facility is designed with children in mind: we have a separate nap room to give little ones a quiet and peaceful space to rest, and our fenced outdoor area is perfect for supervised playtime. I know how important it is for children to get fresh air and time to move around, so I ensure that outdoor play is part of our daily routine whenever the weather allows. Meals are also an important part of our program. I provide healthy, balanced lunches and snacks, and we are a peanut-free and tree-nut-free facility to ensure the safety of all children.

I’m a mother first and foremost, and my experience as a parent has shaped the way I run my daycare. I have an 8-year-old daughter, and I was a stay-at-home mom for many years, caring for her from infancy through school age. I’ve had the joy of watching her grow and develop, and I’m eager to provide that same care and attention to other families in our community. With 8 years of hands-on experience, I understand the needs of young children and the concerns of parents. I am certified in C.P.R and First Aid, so you can feel confident that your child’s safety is always my top priority. My goal is to create a space that feels like an extension of home, where your child feels safe, happy, and loved.

At Woodlawn Mews Children’s Corner, I believe in keeping things simple, natural, and child-centered. My curriculum is play-based, as I believe that learning through play is one of the best ways for young children to develop important life skills like communication, problem-solving, and creativity. Every day, I read stories, using lots of emotion and expression to make the experience engaging and fun. I know how much little ones enjoy hearing a great story, and it’s a wonderful way to build their love for books and language. In addition to story time, we spend time outdoors in our fenced, outdoor play area, where children can run around and get fresh air. Thank you for learning about my daycare!
