OPENINGS: We have a short-term opening for any age until March 23rd, 2025 . We also have specific part-time spots for any age on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays.
Dogue Creek Family Childcare is a home-based daycare in Kingstowne Alexandria, VA. My home is right off S Van Dorn St and has easy access to Telegraph Rd (route 611), S Kings Hwy (route 633), and the I-95.
About Me
I’m the owner of this nurturing child care program and I have more than a decade of professional experience. I hold a bachelor’s degree and CPR & First-aid certifications. I can also administer medication to all children in my care since I’m a M.A.T trained. My daycare is a comfortable and safe environment for children, and I want parents to feel rat ease when they drop their children off.
Program
My daycare is open on weekdays from 6 AM to 6 PM! I can provide care after 6 PM until 9 PM for an additional fee. I provide full-time and part-time care for infants, toddlers, and preschoolers between the age of 3 months and 5 years old. Kids can stay up to twelve hours without extra charge (infants under 12 months can be in care for not more than 10 hours a day). Extended/weekend care may be negotiated. We provide breakfast, lunch and afternoon snacks to children who are enrolled full time.
Before and after school care are also available for older kids up to 12 years old (I’m a few minutes’ drive away from Lane Elementary School and Franconia Elementary School). We also accept military families who have subsidy (vouchers).
Curriculum
At Dogue Creek Family Childcare, the children participate in daily activities such as learning the alphabet, circle time, days the week, months of the year, different colors and counting numbers. I also put a large importance on creativity, and offer many art projects for your child to explore.
In addition to English, I speak Amharic and upon your request, I can teach your little one this foreign language (however, please note that my daycare is not a bilingual program).

Our daughter started at this daycare when she was about 5 months old and we have loved our experience there! Imani is now 15 months old and loves this provider and all the women caretakers. As a first-time mom, it's a relief to see her affectionate with the ladies and other kids and running up to the for when dropping off in the morning. We started at 7 months old and it's been great for our family.

We love the provider and her team. They are very loving toward my son and take excellent care of him. As a first time mom, I was nervous about returning to work and sending my baby to daycare. Our son has had a wonderful time here. He is always happy at drop offs and smiling when we pick him up. It is Jahred's home away from home. The loving care and attention that my son receives is priceless. This daycare is a blessing to our family.
