The school encourages all the unique characteristics an individual child brings to the school. At the same time, basic skills which are important to all children are developed.
Part of each day is “free time” so a child may learn to make decisions about when they will play and when they will complete the activity of the day. Other parts of the day are “directed time” so the child encounters a broad variety of experiences. Special programs, field trips, and classroom visitors enrich the educational process.
As children learn through play, opportunity is provided to develop personal, inter-personal and social skills to be a well mannered, productive member of a classroom community.
Play equipment for both gross motor skills and fine motor skills is provided. Multiple disciplines of art, music (including twice a month music classes), crafts, story telling, video presentations and many other activities open the children to the richness of our world.
