Rainbow Magic Daycare strives to provide a high quality, family-child care environment for children, parents, and staff. Our curriculum is a play-based curriculum and is created from the needs and strengths of the children in our care. Play is one of the best avenues for learning and we ensure that our staff are taking advantage of every learning opportunity throughout the day. We expect our staff to maintain supervision at all times as we believe safety is the most important factor in our work with children. While our teachers are supervising children, they are asked to converse with the children and ask open-ended questions to encourage knowledge development, critical thinking, and problem solving skills.
In addition to our every day curriculum, we also offer a free preschool program for children ages 3-5. This program is incorporated within our daily curriculum, however, it does allow time for the preschoolers to work towards building the skills and knowledge that they will need before they enter kindergarten.
Our home-daycare has the small, comfortable feel of a family, but the space of a center classroom! Browsing through the pictures can give you an idea, but you really have to see this for yourself. Give us a call and set up a time to come visit our daycare! In addition to a curriculum that strives to meet the needs of every child, we offer free meals (breakfast, am snack, lunch, and pm snack) for the children. We are affiliated with Children's Hunger Alliance, a program which ensures that we are feeding healthy and nutritional meals to children.
Our administrator, Pam, has been in the child care field for over 40 years and has worked in both in-home settings and day care centers. She worked in a child care center and when her son was born, she started her own family child care business. She started off working as a Type B provider, caring for only six children at a time. Eventually, she expanded to a Type A home. This has always been her dream and she is truly passionate about her work with families and children. She has all of the required trainings (CPR, First Aid, Child Abuse Recognition, and Communicable Disease Training). She also participates in several classes throughout the year to stay up-to-date in the child care field.
Shali has been working at Rainbow Magic Daycare for four years and is the lead teacher at the daycare. Previously she worked at a daycare center as a lead teacher and after school program coordinator. She currently holds a bachelors degree in Fish and Wildlife Conservation and Management and is almost finished with her associates degree in Early Childhood Education. Due to her previous work in natural resources, Shali finds many ways to incorporate nature education into the lesson plans. She is also CPR/First Aid Certified and has received training in Child Abuse Recognition and Communicable Diseases.
Melanne is a child care staff member and has worked at the daycare for the past four years. She is the mother of three wonderful children who also attend our daycare in the summer. She is currently attending college part time to further her education. She always has a smile on her face and is eager to lend a helping hand. We are grateful for all that she does for the children at the daycare.
Rachel is a child care staff member and has worked at they daycare for the past year. She has two beautiful daughters and her kind heart and patience with the children make her a wonderful teacher. We are truly lucky to have her. Rachel is very crafty and suggests many new ideas for the classroom and also for lesson plans.
