Young children learn in an integrated process that builds across social, intellectual, creative, emotional and physical domains. At Holly Springs Academy, we provide abundant opportunities daily for our youngsters to explore ideas and possibilities, create art, architectural, science and dance/music masterpieces, use play as the basic building block for all activities, and learn using the state approved Explorations With Young Children Curriculum. This Curriculum is based on the Bankstreet College of Education's Developmental Interaction Approach.
We are very mindful of the nutrition we provide our children. We only serve fresh, healthful (often organic) fruits and vegetables, and buy good quality whole foods to offer our children healthy eating choices and to provide "brain food" throughout the day. A morning and afternoon snack are served each day.
Our Little Sprouts Sensory and Vegetable Gardens, insectary, and orchard provide ongoing integrated lessons in eco-systems, math, science, language, taking responsibility and teamwork to our children. We partner with the NCSU School of Design's Natural Learning Initiative and we are a member of The Edible Schoolyard Project.
Every day in the life of a preschooler is a wonderful, exciting opportunity to explore, create, play, learn , love and be loved. At Holly Springs Academy, we partner with each child as they explore every day's possibilities through creative play, learn through both teacher and child-directed activities, and share their triumphs, challenges and hugs with their teachers and friends alike... in a safe, secure and monitored setting.
All staff at HSA are passionate, experienced caregivers who will provide a nurturing, diverse and stimulating learning environment in which your child can grow, gain confidence and become self-reliant. We will work very hard to support the development of every child's YOU-niqueness!
We're a 5 star school.
