At Laurel Hill Kids Playhouse, we offer full-time care and preschool for children from infants to 5 years old. Whether you have a newborn a toddler or a preschooler getting ready for the next step in their education, we are here for you! Our hours are from 7:30am to 5:30pm, Monday to Friday. We’re conveniently located in the Laurel Hill neighborhood of Lorton, VA, just off Lorton Rd and Ox Rd, near the Laurel Hill Golf Club (we're only a few minutes from the I-95).

I'm the owner and lead teacher, and I’ve been a professional caregiver for over 15 years. I started this in-home daycare back in 2009, and being a mom of two myself, I know firsthand how important it is to find the right care for your little one. Before starting my daycare, I worked in different child care facilities as an assistant, which gave me valuable experience that I now use to run my own child care facility. I also hold safety certifications in CPR, First Aid, and M.A.T., so you can rest assured that your child is in safe hands. I’m proud to say that I’ve always treated the children I care for as if they were part of my own family. Many of the families I’ve worked with over the years still keep in touch, which makes me feel so happy and fulfilled. Alongside me, I have two wonderful child care assistants, each with 10 years of experience. Together, we make sure that your child is always surrounded by experienced, caring adults.

At Laurel Hill Kids Playhouse, our philosophy is all about learning through play. I believe that kids learn best when they’re having fun and feel involved, so we mix in lots of activities that engage their curiosity and creativity. Our daily schedule includes things like circle time, we sing songs, dance, and explore arts and crafts. Your little ones will also get a chance to develop early reading and writing skills, all while enjoying themselves in a relaxed and playful setting. I also love incorporating everyday tasks into the children’s routine, like cooking and baking. These hands-on activities not only teach practical skills but also help kids feel a sense of responsibility and achievement. Plus, who doesn’t love baking cookies together? When the weather’s nice, we head outdoors for some fresh air and playtime. Our backyard and outdoor play area are perfect for kids to run around, burn off some energy, and develop social skills. I believe that building friendships is one of the most important parts of growing up, so I encourage kids to play together, share, and communicate during outdoor play. For naptime, we have a separate nap room where your child can rest and recharge in a quiet, comfortable space. We also provide healthy, peanut-free and treenut-free lunches and snacks throughout the day (those are already included in the tuition!)
