West Hollywood Children's Academy, Los Angeles

Since 1991 West Hollywood Children’s Academy has been providing early childhood educational program in a positive, gentle, nurturing, and safe environment. Children are encouraged to think, reason, question, experiment, makes choices, develop practical skills. Children learn to be independent, to develop social skills, and to love learning. Preschool focuses on learning activities. Children learn to read while in care (legit reading, not just memorizing), learn to write their name and basic words, begin spelling, become familiar with math concepts, STEM, botany, improve coloring/coordination... In addition to academics, there are weekly enrichment programs: Dance, Yoga, Music and Singing classes, Spanish, and Animaly/Zoology. For zoology, for example, a new animal is brought every Friday (from a turtle to a baby goat) and children learn all about them. There are 2 theatrical performances during a year with each child participating. The facility is located in residential area, and backyard/playground area has commercial surfacing, beautiful green trees and plenty of shades. All teachers have credentials in Early Childhood Education and extensive experience working with young children.
