Hi I am Mi Yia! (Maya)
I'm a retired mother of two and grandmother of one. I have prior work experience as both an NYC Emergency Service Employee (EMT) and Family Counselor.
Due to my becoming a single parent unexpectedly and working many years in these fields, I've become very attentive to the needs of a person, as well as patient and understanding of one’s feelings.
Because of my life as a single parent, I understand the need for good childcare in a safe environment. So, now that I am retired, I decided to open Mi Yia's Schoolhouse and share my love of science, reading, the arts and my enthusiasm to educate with the most imaginative and creative people on our planet…children!
Mi Yia’s Schoolhouse opened in 2019, we are a NJS DCF-DHS in-home Licensed, Registered/Certified childcare/preschool center.
