Starter Set Preschool & Child Development Center, Porter Ranch

Starter Set Preschool and Child Development Center began as a dream of Barbara and Douglas Packard who envisioned a school in which children could learn and play in a safe, loving, and nurturing environment. After many months of planning, building, and much excitement, this dream became a reality in September of 1997 when Starter Set opened its doors to an incoming class of twenty students and three teachers. Several teachers have been with us since we first opened the doors. Starter Set Preschool is directed by founder and owner, Barbara Packard. Barbara has over twenty-five years of experience in the field of Early Childhood Development. She began her career as a teacher of two-year-olds, gaining hands-on experience in providing a warm and loving environment conducive to learning. She learned very quickly that children learn when they are having fun, actively exploring, and discovering in their environment. Mrs. Packard believes that children become strong and confident with a positive sense of self worth through their accomplishments, ideas, and participation. These are lessons which can be taken with them through life's challenges.
