Thank you for your interest in Wheaton Woods Kids Playhouse, a licensed home daycare and preschool in Rockville, MD. We're located in the Wheaton Woods neighborhood of Aspen Hills, Rockville. Our child care facility is conveniently located right off Connecticut Ave (route 185) and Georgia Ave (route 97), near the Aspen Hill Shopping Center.

I’m the owner and main caregiver and I have 6 years of early childhood experience. Before opening my own daycare, I worked as a teacher assistant for another licensed daycare in Silver Spring, MD. I’m a mother of 2 myself so I have first-hand training with my own kids. I’m also CPR and Frist-aid certified, as well as MAT trained (if needed, I can administer medication to all children in my care).

My family child care program uses the Creative Curriculum and we have lots of age-appropriate toys as well as fun, educational activities such as reading, storytime, painting, arts & crafts, identifying colors & shapes, dancing, singing/music, playdough, letters, numbers, and much more. I help kids trace letters for their name and read a new book with them every day. I help my young students to develop their social skills, focusing on good manners and respect. I speak Tagalog / Filipino in addition to English and I can teach your child this foreign language upon your request (however, my daycare is not bilingual or fully immersion). My goal is to provide quality care and early education in a safe, fun, loving, and nurturing learning environment where each child can grow and foster. My space is neat and organized, with labeled toy bins and great natural sunlight. I made it cozy with puzzles, colorful mats, and artwork, and there are even educational posters on display. I have a large fenced backyard with a great playground where children can play outdoors (weather permitting).

I’m open year-round from 7:00 am to 6:00 pm, Monday through Friday. I provide full-time and part-time care for infants as young as 1 week, as well as toddlers and preschoolers up to 5 years old. Children attending my program are served with lunch and snacks (included in the tuition). Drop-in care is available for your occasional child care needs. For school-age kids up to 13 years old, I can offer before and after school care (I’m within walking distance of Brookhaven Elementary School and fairly close to Rock Creek Valley Elementary School). Health and safety measures include deep cleaning at the end of every week. We also wash our hands regularly, and if the child is sick, they must be picked up so that other children aren't exposed.
