Forest Knolls Playhouse, Silver Spring

Forest Knolls Playhouse is a home daycare in Silver Spring, MD. I’m the owner and main caregiver, and I have 7 years of child care experience. I hold an Associate's Degree and I’m CPR & First aid certified, as well as MAT trained (if needed, I can administer medication to children in my care). I’m also a mom of 2 kids, so I can relate to parent's concerns and challenges when it comes to finding a safe and affordable daycare! My family child care program is open from 7:30 am to 5:00 pm, Monday through Friday (year-round). I provide full-time care for infants as young as 6 months, as well as toddlers through preschoolers and school age children up to 12 years old, including children with special needs. I serve snacks to all kids in my care and due to possible allergies, I run peanut and tree-nut free child care facility. I believe that children learn best through play and thus, I follow the Play-based teaching philosophy. This approach helps each child to boost their confidence and develop their socio-emotional and cognitive skills. In addition to English, I also speak Amharic and upon your request, I can expose your little one to this foreign language (however, my program is not fully bilingual or language immersion). Forest Knolls Playhouse is in the Forest Knolls community of Kemp Mill, in Silver Spring, MD. My facility is near Forest Knolls Elementary School, and has easy access to all major roads: the I-495, University Blvd W, Colesville Rd, and Columbia Pike.
