About Me
Hello, and welcome to Fairland Estates Children's Place! I’m the owner and primary caregiver at this licensed in-home daycare and preschool in Silver Spring, MD. As a mother of two and a former nurse with a passion for caring for others, I started this child care program to provide a nurturing, safe, and fun learning environment where your child can learn, play, and grow.
I have a Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing and 5 years of experience in child care. Before opening Fairland Estates Children’s Place, I spent 4 years as a clinical nurse, where I honed my skills in care, safety, and emergency preparedness. I am also C.P.R. and First Aid certified, so you can trust that your child’s safety is my top priority.
My journey into child care began when I lived with my older sister and cared for my nephews and nieces. It was during that time that I realized how much I enjoyed working with children, and that experience, combined with my nursing background, inspired me to open my own in-home daycare.
As a mother of two, I understand how important it is to find a caregiver who truly cares about your child’s well-being and development. I’m patient, attentive, and treat each child in my care as if they were my own. I’m also joined by my Child Care Assistant, who has 3 years of experience and holds a Bachelor's Degree in Public Education and Development Management.

Our Curriculum & Activities
At Fairland Estates Children’s Place, I believe that children learn best when they’re having fun and not feeling pressured. That’s why our daily schedule includes a balance of structured activities and free play, with plenty of opportunities for exploration and creativity. We focus on teaching good manners and basic social skills, while also giving children the space to enjoy their childhood.
A typical day includes Circle Time where we gather together for group reading, story time, and singing songs. This helps build early literacy skills while fostering a sense of community. We also introduce preschoolers to the basics of writing and recognizing letters and numbers, but always in a way that feels engaging and playful. Outdoor Play is always part of our days (weather permitting), as well as Creative Play (arts and crafts and imaginative games).
Why Choose Our Daycare
As both a parent and a provider, I know how important it is to find a daycare where your child feels safe, supported, and loved. We pride ourselves on offering a child-friendly environment where children can thrive. With my background as a nurse, I’m trained in emergency care. Our in-home daycare is designed with safety in mind, and we follow strict protocols to ensure a clean and secure environment.
Our small group setting allows us to build close relationships with each child and their family. We want Fairland Estates Children’s Place to feel like a second home, where your child is loved, supported, and encouraged to grow. If you’re looking for an in-home daycare that’s dedicated to the well-being and development of your child, we’d be honored to be part of your family’s journey.
