Placing your child in daycare can be a very difficult decision. Maplewood will make every attempt to help you feel comfortable, relaxed, and well informed. It is also very important that each child feels happy and secure while in our care. Our Center is dedicated to providing a safe, loving, nurturing and creative environment for children ages 16 months - 6 years. Our goal is to emphasize that learning is unlimited and to help each child recognize their own value, as well as the value of others. We pay considerable attention to atmosphere and believe a child may not always remember what you say or do, but they will always remember how you made them feel. We recognize children learn in different ways and need a variety of experiences to ensure kindergarten readiness. The children are encouraged to make choices and contribute their own thoughts and ideas. Our classroom environment is organized with an age appropriate selection of toys, books, and materials as well as a variety of learning centers. Each week our staff plans daily preschool activities around a central theme, with a focus on specific skills to meet the developmental needs of the children. Our open classroom layout gives our teachers and children the opportunity to bond with other classes which helps promote the feeling of family throughout the center. Our spacious outdoor play area allows us to take advantage of the many opportunities for fun, interactive learning. We believe this creates a sense of security and fosters positive growth and development. We view each child as a wonderful addition to our Maplewood family and encourage the involvement of parents and/or other family members, as well as neighbors within our community.
