DC Parents, Don’t Miss the Sing, Talk and Read Festival!

On Saturday, September 13, 2014, round up your kids and visit the Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial Library for a day of family fun, food, prizes and most importantly, free resources! It’s the Sing, Talk and Read (STAR) Family Festival!

This year’s Sing, Talk and Read festival will feature live children’s performances with Two-Time Grammy Award Winners Cathy Fink and Marcy Marxer. There will also be character appearances by Super Why and other surprise guests. Festivities will also feature a photo booth, free book and prize giveaways, workshops for parents, lunch and interactive crafts and games for children. To connect families to vital health and educational resources, the Library partners with other children’s organizations and D.C. agencies. The event is sponsored by Radio One, and emceed by radio personalities Shorty da Prince and Angie Ange.

This is the DC Public Library’s second annual STAR Family Festival. Last year’s event was a big success with over 400 D.C. families in attendance. For more information, visit https://www.dclibrary.org/
