Founded in 1971, the Waldorf School of Baltimore is a private, independent day school for girls and boys from nursery age through 8th grade. Our mission is to educate and inspire children to think, feel, and act with depth, imagination, and purpose. Our campus is conveniently located in scenic North Baltimore, and attracts families from diverse communities in and around the Greater Baltimore Metropolitan Area. We are a full member of the Association of Waldorf Schools of North America (AWSNA), fully licensed by the Maryland State Department of Education (MSDE), and accredited by the Association of Independent Maryland Schools (AIMS).
The Waldorf School of Baltimore believes every child is an enthusiastic and engaged learner, and emphasizes the role of creativity and the imagination in the attainment of knowledge. The Waldorf method offers a renaissance in education, favoring hands-on, experiential academics over rote memorization and technological reliance. Students are immersed in a rigorous, yet nurturing environment that fosters intellectual curiosity, emotional resiliency, and a strong sense of themselves in relation to the rest of the world.
