Growing Minds Family Daycare, Cambridge

Our home is set up for daycare, our downstairs is set up like something you would see at a daycare center, but with a big comfy couch. We rotate toys regularly to keep kids engaged. Curriculum is created by the owner, we do new topics every week and most of our teacher directed activities go with that theme. Most importantly, we put a real emphasis on reading. We read several books a day. Books that children have access to are rotated as well as the teacher books on display that go with the theme. We utilize the library to keep our reading fresh! Our back yard is fenced in and during nice weather we walk to a nearby park. Ms. Sheighlyn has a BA in Psychology and is trained in First Aid, CPR, and AHT. She opened her own daycare after working in centers and feeling it wasn't the right setting for her or her children. We believe children should be cared for with love, families should be together, all food should be health food, and care should be developmentally responsive. Parents should be happy with their care provider and always know how their child is doing.
