About Us
Hi parents, thank you for your interest in Auburn Farm Montessori Daycare, my family child care and preschool program in Aldie, VA. I am the owner and lead teacher, and I am a mother with 18 years of experience in child care and early education (including teaching in a Montessori School). I hold a Child Development Associates degree and I am also CPR and First Aid certified, as well as MAT trained (so I can administer medication to your child if needed.)
My home daycare hours are from 7:30am to 5:30pm, Monday through Friday. I offer both full-time and part-time daycare options (including drop-in care), and have a Montessori preschool program for toddlers and preschoolers. Breakfast, lunch and 2 snacks are included in the tuition for the children in my care. My goal is to provide safe and quality child care and early education for children between 2 months to 5 years old. I also offer after school care for school-age children up to 6 years old.
Montessori Approach
Auburn Farm Montessori Daycare offers a unique home-based environment where children can learn and play. I am certified by AMI (Association Montessori International) and in our Montessori daycare, the child is the center of our program. We teach them kindness, being brave, shapes, and colors, and our preschool curriculum encourages writing and other interpersonal skills such as having gratitude and being thankful. Our mission is to prepare your little one for future educational endeavors to help them become positive citizens to the world.
We recognize that each child is unique, and thus create an environment where children can grow and learn at their own pace based on their very own intellectual, physical, and emotional needs. Our early learning program is designed to meet key milestones based on age groups. Infants and toddlers need quality child care and education as well as nurturing relationships with their caregiver and teacher. Our infant and toddler programs offer a positive and long-lasting impact on their future.
Our Programs
Infants: our infant program focuses on early sensory skills in a safe, peaceful, and nurturing environment for babies 2 to 18 months. Infants learn the world through their close environment and our infant room is set up so that everything is adequate for young babies. We focus on all aspects of your childs development so your little one will be cared for by an experienced and qualified caregiver who will interact with your child to stimulate sensory, cognitive, language, social, and emotional needs.
Toddlers and preschoolers: for toddlers (over 18 months), we focus on language, math and science, as well as practical life. Our language exercises help children develop oral, writing and reading skills. We encourage children to read and participate in discussions among themselves. Mathematics activities include learning shapes, space, and numbers. We also use Montessori materials to develop basic (age-appropriate) math concepts such as addition, subtraction, multiplication and division. Practical life activities help children learn everyday life tasks; we help them learn how to care themselves, how to care for the environment, and we also teach positive manners.
Our space is well-furnished and organized with different developmentally appropriate toys and activity sections. There is a separate nap and play area to make sure the infants are not waking up the toddlers on different sleep schedules.
