Northeast Stars Montessori and Southern Stars Preschools (part of the STARS Montessori Group) are distinct in being a professionally run preschools with an eye to individualized attention in a warm friendly setting. Our beautiful large Montessori classroom(s) feature the smallest amount of preschool students while still having the same number of professionals per child. What is Montessori and MORE? We are a Montessori school with certified Montessori teachers. We also integrate a composite curriculum from today's best educational practices and work with our families to integrate those practices in the home. Our Alexandria preschool is in one very large Montessori classroom. The students are divided up into smaller groups of students. Each group is led by a certified licensed teacher and supported by an assistant teacher. We offer year-round flexible schedule programs for children 24 months to 6 years old, including kindergarten readiness and kindergarten programs. Our Montessori teachers are trained by North American Montessori Center (NAMC). Northeast Stars Montessori Preschool is a Child Development Facility licensed by the Office of the State Superintendent of Education (OSSE) in DC, and Virginia Department of Social Services. Northeast Stars is also certified by the North American Montessori Center. Our community school has been fully licensed for 20 years! We follow strict guidelines and procedures with regard to the safety, security, comfort, and health of our children. NES was established as the only full service Montessori preschool in the Capitol Hill Area in 2003.
