Acorn Daycare and Preschool, Annandale

Acorn Daycare and Preschool is a Montessori daycare in Annandale, VA, run by a preschool teacher with over 26 years of experience. Your children will have a safe and creative environment to learn and flourish. We are professionally staffed, with two teachers and two assistants at all times. Staff is CPR and First aid Trained. We provide a USDA food program, serving organic and nutritious meals. We have a bright and spacious indoor area, as well as a large play area outside, where children get plenty of outdoor play time. There is a library with many books, as well as iPads and tablets for children to use to learning. We do many activities that engage your children and help them learn and prepare for school. The environment is very relaxing and comfortable for your children to feel safe. My name is Ruwani Ranatunga and I take my profession as a child care provider very seriously. Being a certified Montessori and Preschool teacher, I have completed several credit hours of early childhood education, and will continue doing so in order to improve my knowledge and skills. I feel I have the love, knowledge, experience and qualities needed to provide a warm, loving environment in which children can learn and grow. I believe that children are the most important part of our future and will work with you to provide stability for their future. Curriculum: As soon as the child is ready, we will introduce the Montessori method combined with preschool teaching. Activities include arts and crafts, story telling, music and games. All opportunity is given to allow children to use and develop language skills, use large and small muscles, learn new ideas skills and explores them to a verity of cultures. The program will also encourage creativity and imagination using various apparatus, materials and medium. Your children will get confidence, feel successful and good about themselves.
