Our Mission Statement We, the children of God at St. Michael Catholic School, live the Gospel message by fostering a spirit of worship, a commitment to service, and a continuous love of learning. Philosophy of Learning Saint Michael Catholic School provides a Christ-centered learning environment that embraces students as a diversified group and individual learners. A variety of techniques and skills are utilized to educate the whole child. Students learn through direct instruction, everyday experiences, study, and understanding and applying learned concepts. Differentiated instruction provides for all learning styles and utilizes the levels of Bloom’s Taxonomy. Direct instruction is enhanced through partner work, cooperative learning, small groups, independent projects, technology, cross-curricular activities, labs, and kinesthetic/ hands on activities. Students engage in critical thinking to problem solve and demonstrate comprehension of concepts through various formats and assessments, ordering and re-organizing information in ways that will help the individual retain and apply his/her knowledge. Our integrated language arts program provides each student with the opportunities to practice oral, dramatic, and written forms of expression across the curriculum. Students convey ideas through speech, drama, music, and art, as well as through poetry, and other writing forms. Students are encouraged to develop a love for religion, language arts, social studies, science, fine arts, and mathematics. They are challenged to set high goals that will enable them to reach their potential and become life-long learners with the character, skills, and knowledge to be productive citizens. Our goal is to produce informed, skilled, and independent thinking members of society who are grounded in the Truth. Classes will have a maximum of 14 three years old or 20 four years old. The rates and information below are for the 2015-2016 school year. Three Years Old Eligibility: Child must be 3 years old by 9/30/15 Days: Monday/Wednesday/Friday Time: 8:15 to 11:15 am Monthly Tuition: 3-Day program $350 All 3 years old must be potty trained Four Years Old Eligibility: Child must be 4 years old by 9/30/15 Days: Monday/Tuesday/Wednesday/Thursday/Friday Time: 8:15 am to 3:00 pm Monthly Tuition: 5-Day program: $650 Aftercare Available for an additional cost Tuition for St. Michael Preschool is independent from St. Michael Catholic School. Multiple preschool child discounts are applied independently. A $150 non-refundable registration fee is due a the time of enrollment. A $70 activity fee is due with the first month’s tuition payment. The tuition schedule is based on a 9 month payment plan, July through April. Monthly tuition payments must be paid to the school office. Parents who wish to pay in full can pay the school directly by August 15, 2015.
