About The Owner:
I’m the owner and lead teacher of this nurturing family child care and early education program. I have a decade of experience in this field and I hold an Associate's Degree in Nursing. Like you, I’m also a parent, a mom to 2 children who are now adults! My staff and I are dedicated to working with parents to ensure your child's needs are met.
Prior to opening my own daycare, I had been working as a pediatric nurse since 2009. I worked with Georgetown University and Walter Reed. I also volunteer once or twice a month to help with the nursery at our church. I’ve been working with kids at church since I was a teenager.
Philosophy:
We believe that each and every child is a gift so we work hard to provide the best care to them. Our commitment is to help your loved ones grow in a safe, educational, and nurturing environment through fun and enjoyable play.
With the learning through play approach, children can develop key skills such as inquiry, expression, and teamwork. In addition to learning, our curriculum focuses on becoming independent, developing friendships, and creating art!
Curriculum:
Tall Oaks Crossing Playhouse follows the Play-based learning approach and will be using the FunShine Express Curriculum, which is a professionally designed curriculum program with tracks geared specifically toward infants, toddlers, and preschoolers.
This curriculum is designed to be unique, developmentally appropriate, and fun for little ones. The FunShine Express curriculum comes with built-in assessment tools for teachers to track the child’s progress, share their learning achievements and challenges with parents, and to keep parents engaged and involved through every step of their child’s learning adventure.
My curriculum also includes educational, fun activities, such as circle time, letters, flashcards, and matching letters, shapes, and colors. I'm also part of the Maryland EXCELS program so you can be sure that I provide high-quality care and early childhood education.
Program:
We’re open all throughout the year from 7:30 am to 5:30 pm, Mondays to Fridays. We provide full-time and part-time care for infants as young as 6 weeks, as well as toddlers and preschoolers up to 4 years old. Drop-in care is also available for parents only looking for occasional care. We also can accommodate children with special needs, depending on the needs (please inquire to learn more).
All kids attending our program are provided with lunch and snacks (included in the tuition), and to avoid any possible allergies, we maintain a peanut and tree-nut free environment. I also clean everyday and sanitize while the children are napping.
