About
Mixed Age Groups:
In the Montessori environment, each child is viewed as an individual with undetermined potential. Work beyond what is traditionally believed appropriate for each age is available to all the children. They are always learning from each other in a class where there are numerous levels of learning in process. This is one benefit of mixed groupings of children.
Providing an appropriate environment for learning is of the utmost importance for every child. Children absorb information from their environment. The quality and kinds of stimulation provided determine the extent to which potentials become actuality.
Since 1984 we have been striving to provide a carefully planned and stimulating environment where children will learn to respect themselves and others, where children gain independence, organization, increased concentration and enthusiasm for learning, and where parents are valued partners in the education of their children.
