zero notice recently when she, her husband, and daughter confronted me abruptly and physically during a pick-up, saying we are no longer enrolled. We had not had a single negative interaction prior and were completely blindsided - not to mention all in front of my 1 year old daughter. She often has her family take over her duties, i.e. her daughter or husband - it was excessive. In her contract it states "hours will be from 7:00 AM to 4:45 PM Mon-Fri. If you need care before or after this time, arrangements may be possible. If you are going to be late for either pick-up or drop-off, or if your child will not be attending, please call or text to let me know within a ½ hour of regular time." For 3 years we ALWAYS gave notice even if being a few minutes late - there was never an issue. We never dropped off at 7 AM because we told her our schedule would be closer to 8 AM drop off. If we were late, it was always with notice, because I'm driving back from Boulder and running 2 or 3 minutes late.
I used to brag about how happy we are with in-home care because it felt smaller and the cost is so much less, but after this experience I would avoid it at all costs. Right before Christmas we are left with no childcare for our sweet girl, who isn't even 2, and a waitlist for the next available. My last interaction with Maureen was like every interaction - I told her what time I would be there and she said she'd be ready. This time I was ambushed by her husband (who I do not know) yelling at me, and shoving a note in my hand saying this is done - it was traumatizing. We didn't break the contract, ever, and we didn't do the family wrong - this family just has some serious issues and I would be very very wary to work with them, if I were you. There is zero curriculum - don't be fooled - we trusted them with our kids but apparently they treat families horribly and don't even honor their own contracts.
