I'll start by saying this is more of a glimpse into our experience with this Daycare provider rather than a review. The 2 stars were for the organization and layout/schedule of activities and lessons, and the providers were respectful. As a side note, make sure you read every inch of the contract for the large amount of closings and personal days.
We had our 7 month old enrolled here for about 3 months. It is a 100% fact that during those 3 months, my Wife and I had to have him stay home MORE than he was actually at daycare- and not by our choosing. He was diagnosed with asthma earlier this year, upon which a care plan was provided by a Specialized Pediatrician to the daycare. The care plan included an expensive nebulizer to be given as needed. We would still receive texts multiple times a week to come pick him up due to coughing- which is a symptom of his non-contagious condition. We would provided written return-to-daycare notes from a licensed Physician and Pediatric Specialist on numerous occassions, but these were not sufficient and we had to constantly keep him home still. Interestingly, they would tell us they had a stethescope and were listening to his lungs vs entrusting the care plan provided by a pediatric specialist and licensed professional.
Often, we would pick our son up and his items would be bagged and soaking wet with Lysol. On the last occasion, we had to keep our son home for 3 days + the weekend for coughing after once again having to pick him up early. To ensure he was ok, we played it safe and kept him home the remainder of the week. When we went to leave the house to drop him off on Monday we were told we couldn't bring him without a doctors note. We took him to urgent care on Monday night to see if he was okay to return to daycare on Monday. The urgent care doctor said that our son was completely fine especially given his history, and she prescribed no meds, and wrote a note. The next day, after 3 hours of being at the daycare, we received a text with a picture of spit-up saying we needed to pick him up due to 'mucus' in his spit-up. This was bizarre, as it is not abnormal for babies to spit up when eating, which he was at the time of the picture being taken. Again, this was our experience and I feel it is only right to share our opinion with other parents so they can make a well informed decision. Our son has been in a new day care and has been receiving exceptional reports, hasn't been sent home, nor have we been notified of any illness or coughing since.
Response from the provider:
I don’t remember this person being with our daycare. We strive to do the best for all children at our daycare. We make it clear that we don’t do sick care. Asthma is a lung disease that can go wrong at anytime. We always air on the safety of a child.. We have a policy where if a child is ill we will send them home. We had a pandemic which changed a lot of things in daycare. We have to be care if a child has Covid which can hurt other children in our care.
