About me:
I am a mother of three girls who are now young adults. My oldest is a physician practicing in California, my second daughter is an engineer working for the Federal Government and the youngest is also a physician practicing in Maryland.
I am a licensed child care provider and can offer care for up to 12 children between the ages of 6 weeks and 7 years old. I provide care only on a part time basis 3 days a week on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays. I am certified in Medication Administration Training (MAT), CPR and First Aid, and also have course credits through my Child Development Associates (CDA).
Experience:
I graduated college with a degree in Business Administration. I used to work as a Head Administration of Industrial Clinic & Health for 15 years. Before opening my home daycare, I was a substitute teacher for Fairfax County Public Schools specifically Herndon Middle School, Reston Elementary school and also a kindergarten teacher for a few years. I have been in the childcare business for over 16 years.
Program and activities:
I have a child care and preschool program specifically designed to teach infants and toddlers about sharing, being nice to each other, cooperating, interacting with other children, and learning to pay attention during story time and slow playing music class. Toddlers are extremely curious and are developing physically and emotionally at a rapid pace.
Daily activities include painting, games, arts, crafts, coloring, playdoh, Singing Songs, Slow Playing Music, Story time, circle time, learning about animals, shapes, and numbers, and cleaning after any activity. We also go outside in our private playground twice a day if the weather is nice.
I invested in my space to make stimulating for kids. I have bright colorful walls with cartoon characters for wall decors, educational charts posters everywhere, and play sets for infants and toddlers. I also have a table for arts & crafts and learning activities.
