About

Day Care daily routines are structured according to scheduled meals, circle time (song/dance/music/story time), art time, free play, nap time, and outdoor time. This consistency allows children to anticipate their day, providing comfort and security to each child throughout the day. During Free Play time, the children are encouraged to engage in self directed play, arts, and crafts. Age appropriate materials such as; books, puzzles, dolls, balls, blocks, legos, crayons, play dough, paint, various sensory materials, puppets, dress up clothing, etc., are available for the children’s use during this time. These materials have been arranged according to area of interest, thus promoting active learning during play. The children are taught the proper use and care of all materials. Every moment throughout our day is a teachable moment. Unstructured play and structured activities are designed, through the utilization of specific materials, to enhance fine motor skills, gross motor skills, cognitive skills, emotional skills, and social skills. As an advocate for the importance of early childhood education, I have structured the day care setting and program in a manner that allows for the facilitation of overall enrichment of the whole child. Our daily routine involves a blending and utilization of various educational techniques, such as High Scope and Montessori teaching methods. Through these methods, I inspire and facilitate active learning. There is great value in the knowledge and experience that is gained through direct, hands-on experiences involving people, objects, events, and ideas. Combining this aspect of learning with my early childhood educational training, I offer guidance and support while scaffolding the important areas of learning during the early childhood years. The atmosphere of the Day Care has been designed to portray a natural setting for the children attending day care, engaging children’s natural tendencies toward, as well as, curiosities about the (natural) world around them. The day care is approximately 525 square feet, air conditioned, and utilized exclusively for day care. On a personal note, I am the mother of three amazing people: Taylor (20), Joshua (19), and Charlie Ann (10). My husband Larry is a Captain in the Honolulu Fire Department, Kapolei Fire Station. I am a licensed (State of Hawaii) day care operator. I am CPR/First Aid certified. I have 10 years of experience in Child Care and one year experience as an Early Childhood Educator, Lead Teacher. I hold an Associate’s degree in Early Childhood Education and a Bachelor’s degree in Educational Studies with a concentration on Early Childhood Education. I wish to thank you for taking time to familiarize yourself with my day care services, should you be interested in scheduling an Open House visit, please contact me at 330-3131.

My daughter has been attending Kimberley daycare for about 2 years now. Me and my husband are so great culture and thankful for all the love, creativity, time and attention she has put into the care for our daughter. I honestly feel like Kimberley is a guardian angel for our family! She has pushed our daughter to grow mentally, physically, and socially. Everyday my daughter comes home with various projects that she has worked on and is even given homework. We are given text messaged pictures throughout the day showing us of all the wonderful things are daughter is learning. This is so special to us since we are both full time working parents. Kimberley keeps the children busy with projects and learning activities that are fun and engaging. Her program is not your average "home daycare" It is run similar to a preschool program yet due to the small size gives the personalized attention that anybody would want their child to have. We are so very great full to have our daughter spend her days in such a loving and positive environment.

My husband and I feel blessed and lucky to have Kimberly watching our daughter when we are at work. It is a comfort to us knowing that she is being provided nothing but the greatest love, care, and education in a nurturing environment. Daycare feels more like family is watching your child with Kimberly. We know we picked the right person when my daughter jumps out of my arms and into the arms of Kimberly with a smile on her face. We LOVE Kimberly!!
