Reading Friends of Keller is an academic preschool for ages 2-Kindergarten. Our curriculum is based on Orton-Gillingham, a multi-sensory approach to teaching the whole child. We offer Language, Music, Math, Art, Discovery (Science and Social Studies), Perceptual Gross Motor, Fine Motor, and Outside/Free Play daily from 9am-12pm. At noon, the children eat lunch and dismissal starts at 12:45pm. We offer enrichment classes from 1:00-2:00pm.
Preparing a child for Kindergarten entails more than learning the alphabet and recognizing shapes. Here, we prepare the whole child for lifelong learning. Ours is a culture and an educational climate in which increased emphasis is placed on preschool development and social readiness. Our curriculum includes multi-sensory teaching techniques founded on Orton-Gillingham principles, which allow all students to be successful.
