Hello, parents! Welcome to Hunterwood Children's Place, my in-home daycare nestled in the Hunterwood neighborhood of Lorton, VA. Located right off Telegraph Rd with easy access to the Fairfax County Pkwy and the I-95, our daycare is a cozy, nurturing haven for your little ones. After years of babysitting in our neighborhood and working as an assistant in another daycare, I've taken the leap to fulfill my ultimate dream: opening my own daycare. As a mother of three wonderful children aged 9, 8, and 2, I believe in the joy and fulfillment that comes from being with kids. My home, especially the spacious basement converted into our daycare, and soon-to-be-set outdoor play area in our fenced backyard, are spaces where your child can safely explore, learn, and grow.

Hunterwood Daycare welcomes infants, toddlers, and preschoolers from 6 weeks to 5 years old, offering full-time, part-time, and preschool programs tailored to meet the developmental needs of each age group. Our hours are designed to accommodate your busy schedule, opening at 7 am and closing at 6 pm. I've dedicated a separate room for infants to ensure they have a quiet, soothing space that meets their unique needs, while our main activity area is a lively, engaging environment filled with educational toys, books, and art supplies conducive to play-based learning. Our backyard is being set up as an outdoor play area to make it a safe, fun space for your children to enjoy fresh air and outdoor activities.

At Hunterwood Children's Place, we embrace a play-based approach to learning, believing that children thrive when education is fun and engaging. I love music, so our daily schedule is filled with singing and dancing. This is fun, but also enhances literacy, memory, and social development. Our activities are designed to cater to the diverse interests and developmental stages of our children, from sensory play for infants to imaginative play and storytime for toddlers and preschoolers. We'll explore colors, shapes, numbers, and letters in ways that ignite curiosity and foster a love for learning.

With my background in child care, my commitment to creating a nurturing environment, and our well-set-up space, Hunterwood Children's Place offers a warm, safe, and educational early learning program in Lorton, VA. I also provide breakfast, snacks and lunch and offer a peanut and tree-nut free environment. I can't wait to meet you!
