My son has been attending Duarte Family Daycare since 9/2017. At first glance, the facility seems clean and kid-friendly. However, the Director, Lourdes is clearly more concerned with appearances rather than the actual care of the children- Spending more time on her phone instead of supervising. A few months after my son started, I began noticing occasional scratches on him but didn't ask Lourdes because she never called or texted me about it, therefor I didn't want to come across as an over analytical mom. However, as my son's wounds became more protuberant, I sought answers . On Sun July 15th, I sent a private message to the Justkidz Duarte Group on Facebook and included photos of my son's wounds. I was hoping Lourdes would take accountability for what was occurring in her daycare and provide a solution, instead, she replied "if you don't like our service, please find someone else". I find her complete disregard of my child's recent negative emotional experience, unprofessional and extremely disappointing. Ms Lourdes is fully aware and accepting of kids fighting under her supervision and is not willing to promote positive behavior or use any creative methods to divert and/prevent future scenarios from occurring. It is not a safe environment.
