Welcome to Stedwick Kids Playhouse, my home-based daycare and preschool in Montgomery Village, MD. My child care facility is located in the Stedwick neighborhood, right off Watkins Mill Rd and Stedwick Rd (near Stedwick Elementary as well as Montgomery Village Ave, Centerway Rd, and Frederick Rd.)
About Me
I’m the owner and main caregiver and I have 16 years of professional experience. Before opening my own daycare, I worked at another licensed facility. I have a Master's Degree in Psychology and I'm CPR & First-aid certificated. I also hold a Maryland Child Care Credential Level 4, a program that recognizes child care providers who increase qualifications beyond the requirements of state licensing and registration regulations.
I’m a mom of 2 myself, so I can relate to your concerns when it comes to finding the best “second home” for your little one. At my daycare, I treat each child as if they were my own.
Program
Stedwick Kids Playhouse is open all year, between 6:00 am and 6:00 pm, Mondays to Fridays. I provide full-time and part-time care for infants as young as 1 week, as well as toddlers and preschoolers up to 5 years old, including children with special needs.
Children attending full-time are provided with lunch and snacks (already included in the tuition). I also offer before and after school care for school-age kids up to 12 years old (my home is near Stedwick Elementary School). For parents who are just looking for occasional care, drop-in care is the best option.
Curriculum
I use an age-appropriate educational program that is tailored based on the learning progress and the needs of each child. I have lots of arts and crafts activities such as painting, drawing, coloring, and educational activities like writing, reading, ABCs, numbers, math, blocks, etc. I also use hand puppets to teach colors, sorting, and pairs. My goal is to have a great rapport with children and keep them engaged, and exceed parents' expectations.
In addition to English, I also speak Farsi and Turkish and upon request, I can teach your child these foreign languages (note that my daycare is not a bilingual program).
I have wall decor and educational posters everywhere and learning materials and toys for all ages. I also have a big backyard, and I’m planning to convert it into a private playground for the kids to enjoy their outdoor playtime. In the meantime, there are community playgrounds near my home where I can take the children to.
Saftey
At my daycare, we follow health protocols for the safety of everyone. I deep-clean all toys, tables, and shelves after closing time. We also wash our hands in between lunch and activities.

This caregiver is such an amazing person all around but when it comes to the babies, she exceeds expectations! I never have a doubt or a worry when my child is in her care. She takes the time to learn each child and provide each one with the special care, love, and attention that they need and shares a special bond with each child. My child loves her and I couldn’t ask for anything more.

My son is always so excited to go in! He is always excited to tell me the new things he learns. His handwriting is amazing and has been since he was 4. The owner very clearly loves the children and really want to provide them with a fun, safe, and caring environment.

She is very involved with my son and my son is continuously learning new things. She is very informative throughout the day as to what is happening with pictures of him doing activities and socializing with other friends and updates me on how my son is doing during the day.

I’m so relieved and thankful to have my baby registered at this Family Child Care. I was concerned for returning to work and leaving my baby in daycare but she made my decision to return to work at ease knowing she was in her care and in a safe environment. She has such a caring heart and genuinely loves all the children. My baby is so happy when she sees her and that releases any anxiety I may had. The daycare is always very clean and welcoming. She and her daycare have been a huge blessing. I had my daughter home with me for the first 1.5 years (while working full time) during the height of the pandemic. In January, we needed a change for her and all of us - getting her out of the house and socialized. since then, I have felt a huge sense of relief knowing she’s with someone, and other kids, that she truly enjoys being with. She is consistent, dedicated, and communicative. She has implemented the necessary safety protocols throughout the pandemic. I have never felt like my daughter was in an unsafe or risky environment. My neighbors and friends have complaints and concerns about their daycares and I can’t come up with any!! My daughter is happy, eats well, plays hard, has friends, is learning every day and is safe! What more can I ask for?

This provider is so wonderful with our daughter and you can tell she really cares about her! Daycare was a difficult but necessary decision for us and this provider helped make the transition smooth and was so accommodating to all our needs. She is amazing, she truly cares and puts education first! My son was fully potty trained by 18 months, and could spell his name as well as write it fully by 2 years. She teaches to the Kindergarten curriculum. They never watch TV or have just junk for meals, she makes all the meals. She does storytime and arts and crafts as well. She makes sure they go outside everyday.

Thank you so much for this provider who is taking such great care of my son Alexander. You studied all his strengths and weakness and help him grow into such a great student and friend to others. I appreciate you helping Alex understand the importance of respecting others and maintaining good habits. I am much more confident that he will do well when he enters kindergarten and beyond. Alex tells us all the time how he loves all the activities you do with the class, always showing us the new creations he has made and what he has learned. Our son absolutely loves this provider. He really enjoys going there and playing with his friends. This provider works with him with a lot of different educational things as he grows and develops. She is very attentive and cares for him even when he is not there (texting to check up on how he is doing). Her house is well set up for daycare for kids of all ages. Very clean and organized. 100% recommend this ptovider for your childcare!

This provider cared for my toddler for over a year and felt like a family member to us. She has very good instincts when it comes to caring for and soothing kids. Her gentle yet strong presence lets kids know they are safe and loved. She is also pretty magical at transforming herself into a child and becomes super playful like their best friend. She sets boundaries in a way that helps kids feel empowered rather than disciplined. She’s got a very big heart. We love her!

This has been my childcare provider since my daughter was 8 weeks old (now 3 years). I was very nervous about sending my daughter to daycare because this was my first child, but this provider quickly turned my nervousness into comfort. She brings so much love and care to the children, and the children love her. This provider is a great teacher and prepares young children for grade school. I would highly recommend her as a childcare provider and care giver.

This is the best childcare provider one can ever hope for! She is amazing with kids treating them with affection and care. Children love her because she loves them. Her academic curriculum is also great; your kids will learn so much from this provider in preparation for kindergarten and even while in elementary and middle school. In the end, your child will learn school work, manners in a happy and safe environment.
Our daughter is now in middle school and doing very well because she had a solid foundation under this provider's care.
