Message From The Owner
Dear parents, welcome to Wheaton Hills Children's Den, my licensed home-based daycare and preschool in the Wheaton Hills neighborhood of Silver Spring, MD. Located conveniently near the intersection of Georgia Ave, Veirs Mill Rd, and University Blvd W, and just a minute away from the Wheaton subway station, my child care facility is in a great location for parents commuting to Washington DC, or living between Glenview, North Kensington, and Wheaton-Glenmont.
As a dedicated provider and mother of two, I've spent the last decade nurturing, teaching, and loving children as if they were my own. I hold a Child Development Associate's Degree and I decided to open my own child care facility simply because children bring me joy! I'm not just a daycare; I strive to be a home away from home for your little ones, offering a warm, safe, and stimulating environment for children.
Program & Facility
Wheaton Hills Children's Den caters to infants, toddlers, preschoolers and school-agers between the ages of 0 weeks (newborn babies) and 12 years. Our schedule options include full-time, part-time, before & after school care, as well as drop-in care options, ensuring flexibility for busy families.
Our in-home daycare is designed with safety and fun in mind. From our multipurpose room for diverse activities to our separate nap room for proper rest, every space is thoughtfully designed. The outdoor play area is great for exploration and adventure and is fenced to ensure safety at all times.
Daily Activities
A typical day at Wheaton Hills Children's Den is structured to provide a balance of educational activities, play, and rest. After a welcoming free time, we gather for breakfast, followed by handwashing to promote good hygiene. Circle time is next, with engaging arts and crafts activities that stimulate creativity and social skills.
Outdoor play is a crucial part of our day, so we head to our backyard playground, when the weather allows it. It's not just play; it's an opportunity for children to explore, learn, and develop physically.
Afterwards, we focus on cleanliness, diaper changes, and then shift to reading and other learning activities, tailored to engage and educate our young learners. After lunch, children nap in our separate nap room, ensuring that each child is well-rested. The afternoon includes snack time, music, and a variety of play activities, both indoors and outdoors.
