Hi parents! I’m the owner and primary caregiver at Wheaton Hills Schoolhouse, a bilingual Spanish daycare and preschool in Silver Spring. I’m a mom of two and have been working with children for over 16 years. Here at my in-home daycare, I strive to create a warm, loving, and safe environment where your little one can thrive. Whether your child is an infant, toddler, or preschooler, we provide high-quality care, focusing on their development through play, exploration, and lots of love. I truly believe that children are like gardens that need love and care to bloom. That’s why I started my own daycare, because I love working with children and helping them grow and learn every day. For me, it’s not just a job, it’s a passion. I hold certifications in C.P.R., First Aid, and M.A.T. (Medication Administration Training), so you can rest assured that your child is in safe hands. I believe in treating every child in my care as if they were my own, always staying on top of their needs, providing love, and supporting their emotional development. I take pride in being part of not only your child’s life but also your family’s life. What we seed in our children will grow and reproduce, and I’m grateful to play a part in that beautiful process!

Wheaton Hills Schoolhouse is a licensed child care and preschool program located in the Wheaton Hills neighborhood of Silver Spring, MD. Right off Veirs Mill Rd and Schoolhouse Circle, it's also near the intersection of Georgia Ave and University Blvd W. The facility is also just a minute away from the Wheaton subway station, making it a super convenient location for parents commuting to Washington DC or living between North Kensington and Wheaton-Glenmont. We’re open from 7:30am to 5:30pm, Monday through Friday, all year (including a summer camp for children needing care during school vacation)! We care for children from as young as newborn infants up to 12 years of age. Whether you're looking for full-time child care or a more structured preschool program, we look forward to welcoming you! We aim to work with all families, and also accept child care subsidy vouchers for low-income families. Last but not least, nut-free meals are included in the tuition for all children enrolled (we provide healthy, peanut-free and tree-nut-free lunches and snacks at no extra cost).

At Wheaton Hills Schoolhouse, we follow a play-based teaching philosophy since we believe that kids learn best when they’re having fun! Our daily schedule is designed to keep children engaged and active throughout the day, while also giving them plenty of time to relax and recharge. A typical day starts with breakfast, followed by some time outdoors where we play, listen to music, and enjoy the fresh air. Afterward, we have lunch together and then take a nap to rest up for the afternoon. Post-nap, we head outside again for more exploration and play, and we finish off the day with story time and free play inside. This balance of structured activities and free play helps children develop their social skills, creativity, and independence. We’re also a bilingual Spanish daycare, so your child will be exposed to both English and Spanish throughout the day. This helps foster language development in a natural, immersive way.
