Fairland Children's Den, Silver Spring

Welcome to Fairland Children's Den, my licensed family child care and preschool program in Silver Spring, MD. My home-based daycare is located in the Tanglewood neighborhood, right off Fairland Rd. I'm just a few minutes’ away from Columbia Pike (US-29), Maryland State Route 200 and Briggs Chaney Rd, so your daily commute to work will be very convenient.

I’m the owner and main caregiver, and I have 6 years of professional experience. Before opening my own daycare, I worked for another licensed child care facility. As a mom of 3, I also have first-hand experience raising my own kids. With my experience and passion for child care, I can assure you that your little one is safe under my care. I love working with kids because it is a meaningful and fulfilling job – you witness their milestones and how they flourish. It’s also an opportunity for you to influence them and teach them valuable skills. In addition to English, I also speak Amharic and if you want, I can teach your child this foreign language. Although my daycare is not a bilingual program, this is still an opportunity for your child to be exposed to a foreign language at a young age, which helps develop future language-learning abilities.

My hours of operation are between 6:00 am and 6:00 pm, Monday through Friday. I offer full-time and part-time care for newborn babies, as well as toddlers and preschoolers up to 6 years old. I provide snacks to all kids attending my program and these are included in the tuition. To prevent possible allergies, I run a peanut and tree-nut free environment.
