Welcome to Gum Springs Farm Playhouse, my home daycare in Silver Spring, MD. My family child care program is licensed and located in the Gum Springs Farm neighborhood, off Briggs Chaney Rd. Your daily commute to work will be convenient since I have easy access to Maryland State Route 200, and Columbia Pike (US-29).
About Me
I’m the owner and main caregiver and I have almost a decade of professional experience. I’m CPR & First-aid certified, as well as M.A.T trained, so I can administer over-the-counter prescription and medication to all kids in my care.
Program
Gum Springs Farm Playhouse is open year-round from 7:30 am to 6:00 pm, Mondays to Fridays. I offer a Play-based program and full-time daycare for children between the age of 6 weeks and 5 years old, including children with special needs.
Curriculum
Our educational journey starts with learning ABCs, colors, and shapes but also takes us beyond the basics to explore the wonders of the planets, organs, body parts, and the weather.
We cherish playtime, both indoors and outside, where the little ones sing, dance, and participate in various sports (the kids always enjoy playing soccer!) Before nap time, we take a moment to reflect and express gratitude for the wonderful things we have in our lives.
Facility
Your little one will love my child care facility! I have a nice open space that is bright and colorful, equipped with colorful foam puzzle mats and tastefully decorated. The walls are adorned with great wall decor, including our learning curriculum. There is a library with books, toys suitable for both infants and toddlers, along with an array of stimulating learning toys for all ages.
Safety
I run a peanut and tree-free environment and serve snacks to all children attending my program (already included in the tuition). We practice healthy habits for the safety of everyone. We wash our hands regularly, especially in between snack times, lunch, and diaper changes. We also meticulously clean the foam mats every night with safe products, to ensure the children are not exposed to any harmful chemicals.

This caregiver has been like family to both my family and my son! She has been taking care of my son since approximately 6/7 months old and he is now 2! she identifies different areas of care and implements different approaches if needed. Ms. H and her family take into consideration the dynamics of my family and not only understand but shows great compassion to the type of love my child needs! I found this provider through CareLuLu when I was searching for a daycare for my newborn. I was very apprehensive to leave my 4 month old, but she made us feel so comfortable and ensured that she would take care of our little one as if she was her own. Fast forward 2 months and I am so grateful we found this daycare! I never have to worry if my daughter is ok or if she is being taken care of. She is very patient and even made sure to take special care and time to feed our daughter when she had a feeding aversion. She genuinely loves and cares for all the children at her facility and they love her right back! It's such a joy to see my daughter's face light up when I drop her off in the mornings! She is so excited to see the provider and her friends. The facility is clean and they have a variety of safety measures in place to ensure that the kids are protected. I can't speak to the curriculum as my baby is almost 6 months, but I do know that when she teaches the older kids, my daughter is always right there with them absorbing sights and sounds. She even works in my daughter in helping her to sit, crawl, and stand! I would recommend this daycare to anyone looking for a safe and happy place to send your child. They would be in great hands!

This provider is such an amazing person! I feel comfortable leaving my daughter at her home care. My daughter always smiles and gets super excited when she sees this provider. I appreciate that the space always looks clean and there's plenty of toys for kids to play with. this provider also has a nice backyard where the kids love to play around. I definitely recommend this home care.

I absolutely love this provider and the daycare facility! My children have flourished under her care. She is extremely attentive and the facility is spacious and tidy. I would recommend this place to all who want to have great care for their children and peace of mind while away!

This daycare is great! My son has been attending for approx. 6 months now after having a bad experience with a previous daycare. We are so happy we selected this Family Child Care. We are pleased with the care he is getting here. The provider is attentive and loving, the place is clean, organized and is overall run very well. I feel comfortable with leaving my son here and he is happy to play and see his friends everyday. He is developing well and learning new things.
