About Me:
I’m the owner and main caregiver of this beautiful and intimate daycare, and I run my program with my 2 assistants. I’m a licensed provider with 15 years of experience with CPR & First-aid certifications. I’m also MAT trained, so I can administer over-the-counter and prescription medication.
I’m a parent myself, I mom to 3 children, and I know the struggles of every parent when it comes to finding the right daycare for their little ones. At Potomac Lakes Children's Place, we treat each child as if they were our own and we provide plenty of individual attention. Our goal is to make each child in our care to be happy and feel loved and safe at all times.
Program:
I’m open all throughout the year from 7:00 am to 5:00 pm, Mondays to Fridays. I offer full-time care for infants, toddlers, preschoolers, and school-age kids up to 12 years old. For parents only looking for occasional child care needs, I can accommodate drop-in care.
Peanut and tree-nut free lunch and snacks are already included in the tuition and provided to all kids attending my program. If weather permits, we go to our fenced backyard playground where we spend our outdoor playtime. I send reports home to parents every day about meals, diaper changes, naps, and any notable events throughout the day.
Curriculum:
My family child care and preschool program follows the play-based learning approach, allowing children to learn through play and educational activities such as arts & crafts and music. My young students learn numbers, and colors, and engage in arts and crafts for holidays such as Halloween and Valentine's Day.
I incorporate a variation of free play where the children get to pick their next activity and the toys they want to play with for the next hour. For infants, I have sensory activities that include water play, playdough, foam clouds, and books with various textures for children to touch and identify.
