First UMC Preschool & Parent's Day Out, The Colony

First United Methodist Preschool and Parent’s Day Out provides young children with a developmentally appropriate, safe, Christian environment in which to play and learn. Class placements are determined by the age of the child as of September 1st. Our facility is licensed and inspected regularly by the Texas Department of Protective and Regulatory Services, The Colony Health Department, Denton County Health Department, and The Colony Fire Department. All staff are CPR and First Aid Certified and receive a minimum of 24 hours of Continuing Education annually. Our preschool programs are designed to meet children’s needs at their age level and attention span. Our teacher/class ratios are low. We offer curriculum that is enriched with a wide variety of units and activities to encourage all areas of early childhood development including but not limited to: Chapel, Computers, Music, Spanish, Math, and Science. Our Christian emphasis is geared towards very basic themes that young children can understand and utilize in their world. Our Parent’s Day Out Program is designed for children 18 months to age 3. Our Preschool Program is designed for children age 3 through 5.
