Our daughter attended Bright Start on Kennedy Street for five years -- from the Pooh Nursery before the pandemic to the PK-3/PK-4 class. When our son was born, we didn't hesitate to send him there, too. They both benefited so much from the warm, loving, and safe environment provided by wonderful teachers and support staff. They had space and support to become little people, and they learned more than numbers and letters -- they learned how to be artists, athletes, musicians, students, and friends. Every cent we paid was money well spent, and I wholeheartedly recommend Bright Start to any parent.
A few more things to know: PreK is free for DC residents and doesn't require going through the lottery. Bright Start has expanded from one location to three, with the others in Brentwood and NoMa. Tuition is all-inclusive and covers the cost of diapers, wipes, formula, and food.
