About Us:
I’m the owner and director of this high-quality child care and early childhood education program. I run my daycare with my assistant and we each have 20 years of professional experience. We both hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education, we’re CPR and First-aid certified, as well as MAT trained so you can be sure that your kids are safe under our care.
Program:
Florida Ave Schoolhouse is open all year from 7:00 am to 6:00 pm, Monday through Friday. We offer full-time, part-time, and drop-in care for infants, toddlers, and preschoolers between the age of 6 weeks and 4 years old, including children with special needs. Our daycare provides lunch and snacks to all kids attending our program and these are all included in the tuition. To prevent possible allergies, we run a peanut and tree-free environment.
Philosophy:
We understand that each family’s child care needs are important, which is why our team is dedicated to working with you to meet your expectations. Our team strives to create a warm and welcoming environment where children can learn and grow. Our program is based on Christian principles and beliefs, and we help our little students to be lifelong learners and reach their full potential in all aspects.
Curriculum:
Florida Ave Schoolhouse introduces children to different languages such as Spanish as well as American Sign Language in addition to English. Our curriculum is tailored to each child’s unique needs and developmental stage:
Infants: We engage babies in various activities that stimulate their minds, senses, self-awareness, and hand-eye coordination. At this stage, we also practice tummy time and we provide them a rich learning environment where they can improve their gross motor skills.
Toddlers: Our dedicated and hands-on teachers encourage toddlers to participate in different activities that promote social development and foster self-confidence. We also introduce them to books and words, which is a great way for them to appreciate reading. Overall, we promote socio-emotional, physical, and intellectual development at this stage.
Preschoolers: Our main goal is not only to make them ready for kindergarten and school, but also to make sure that they are above level. We expose them to educational yet fun activities to improve their math skills like working with manipulatives. At this age, we also work on letters and words to improve their writing skills.
Our curriculum is age-appropriate with lots of activities that your little one will surely enjoy, such as phonics and reading, numbers and letters, arts & crafts, music, writing, and of course, lots of indoor and outdoor playtime (we have our own private playground).
