Welcome to Emery Heights Bilingual Playhouse, our licensed in-home daycare and preschool in Washington, DC! Our childcare facility is located next to Emery Heights Park in the Brightwood neighborhood of Washington, DC. We’re conveniently located right off Missouri Ave NW and Georgia Ave NW (route 29), near the Walmart Supercenter. As the owner and main caregiver, I'm committed to creating a high-quality, safe, and loving childcare and preschool facility. I want my space and early learning program to reflect professionalism, embrace diverse cultures, and meet the unique needs of each child. My passion for teaching led me to open this daycare, and I strive to make a positive impact on the lives of young children. Emery Heights Bilingual Playhouse welcomes infants, toddlers, and preschoolers between the ages of 6 weeks and 5 years old. We operate Monday to Friday, from 7:30 AM to 5:45 PM, offering flexibility to local families.

We're dedicated to providing a safe, healthy, and respectful environment. Our philosophy revolves around helping children explore, learn, and thrive in a positive and loving atmosphere. We use a bilingual teaching method, teaching both English and Spanish as we go about our daily activities, so that children automatically learn the new language, along with a cultural immersion.

We follow a well-structured early education and preschool curriculum that blends learning with fun activities, to provide a strong foundation for infants, toddlers, and preschoolers alike. Our approach incorporates the creative curriculum, and we offer activities that are specifically designed to help each child learn based on their individual strengths and learning abilities. For instance, infants fingerpaint with their hands as they learn to hold a brush and crayons. A typical day at Emery Heights Bilingual Playhouse begins with a warm welcome, and free play, followed by breakfast, circle time, singing, and nursery rhymes. Outdoor play at the nearby playground is a highlight (weather permitting), promoting physical activity and social interaction. After physical activities, we enjoy lunch, followed by a restful nap time. In the afternoon, we enjoy story time and engage in learning activities until it's time to clean up and prepare for pick-up. We have art activities every day and children bring their work back home to their parents.
